Masterclasses with CUTIE WHIPPINGHAM

Saturday 23rd November 2024, we have the incredible Cutie Whippingham coming to the studio for a full day of masterclasses, and there's something for everyone.

11am TBC* "TITTS"

"Take It To The Stage" is your stage show toolkit. This workshop draws on my seven years of experience as a stripper and how I’d draw in my audience during my stage shows at the club. We work on relaxing into our own unique performance style and drawing our audience’s attention with non-verbal siren cues including hand placements, touch and playing with facial expressions.

Level: Mixed

Requirements: Stripper Heels and kneepads

Adaptations: Always

(*This workshop will be added to the schedule if we get enough interest, and bookings on the other 2. Please add your info to the waiting list on the booking schedule so we know to put it on!)

1:15pm AERIAL MAGNETISM

Cutie’s signature aerial workshop! This workshop focuses on transitioning into impressive aerial shapes smoothly and with confidence, then building upon those shapes to transition fluidly through sequences with style, grace and magnetism. This workshop intends to make your aerial flow look seamless and breezy.

Level: Intermediate+ (must be comfortable with aerial inverts).

Requirements: Stripper Heels optional. Grip essential.

Adaptations: Where possible.

3pm SPICEOGRAPHY

This is a choreography workshop focusing on oozing seduction whilst having ‘on point’ musicality. In this workshop, we aim to have everyone looking and feeling like a total siren with confidence levels so high they’re borderline cocky.

Level: Mixed

Requirements: Stripper Heels and kneepads

Adaptations: Always

£50 per 90 minute workshop. Places are not held without full payment. NON-REFUNDABLE - However it's possible to sell your space to a fellow poler. Please inform us of any changes. We may also be able to find someone to take your space, but this is not a guarantee.

I’m Leila AKA Cutie Whippingham! I’d like to start with a bit about me so you know my background and what I do. I started pole in 2014 after graduating from a dance institution - I fell in love instantly and by 2015 I was a certified instructor and began teaching and stripping. I worked in clubs in Brighton and London until 2022. In 2018 I was commissioned to perform for Redbull where Nike scouted me, and my career took off in the direction of working with brands, introducing them to pole, and evolving my work of destigmatising and decolonising pole.

In 2020 I founded Blackstage which is an organisation that centres pole dancers of colour with a special focus on those with intersecting identities (LGBTQIA+, sex workers, disabled folk, plus-sized polers and those on low incomes). Blackstage truly revolutionised the pole industry in the way it interacts with race, wages, inclusivity and accessibility, influencing widespread change throughout. My style of pole is heavily influenced by my background in contemporary dance, stripping, and general weirdness and hilarity.
